EDWARD VICTOR BUTTERFIELD April 10, 1925 - October 7, 2006 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ed on Saturday, October 7, 2006 peacefully with family by his side. Ed leaves to mourn his loving wife Lucille; son Richard (Patty Justus); stepdaughters, Cathy Carpenter and Linda Warms; grandchildren, Christine (Greg) Falk, Rick Luptak (Jaycine and baby Kye), Jesse and Sara Carpenter, Elizabeth (Don) Fotti, Simon and Paul Gusztak, Philip and Angela Justus; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ethan Falk; brother Ray (Alma); several nieces, nephews and their families and first wife Lillian. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Walter; brothers, Maurice, John, Ken and Bill; sisters, Violet (Mitch) Oakes, Kathleen (Ralph) Thatcher and Brenda Russell. Ed was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Fort Rouge. He started his career in the warehousing and distribution industry at Midwest Storage and retired December 1989 from his position as traffic manager at Livingston Distribution. Ed was a friendly, generous person with a wonderful sense of humour. He lived for his wife and family and always enjoyed all the family gatherings, especially the barbecues around the pool. He loved golfing, curling, and cherished the time spent with his son Richard at Goldeye games. Happy times were spent ballroom dancing with Lucille at the Memory Lane dances. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Saturday, October 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Dakota Hotel. Lunch to follow. Appreciation to Dr. Fewer, the staff at Intensive Care Unit (Health Sciences Centre) and Judith Dietrich. Arrangements entrusted to Voyage Funeral Home 284-7500.
